James explained that God wants us to keep ourselves away from evil influences so our worship can be pure. God wants His followers to care for the needy, including widows and orphans.

The first chapter of James serves as a guide for believers who are walking in faith. According to James, this test of faith is what builds tenacity. James taught that even when there are trials and tribulations in life, one should remain faithful.
